Emmaus Ipswich is a new initiative, set to offer some homeless people a safe home, work and the chance to rebuild their lives in a supportive environment.
By providing a home and dignity through a dedicated place of work, we aim to rebuild confidence by giving or supporting the skills of the people that join our community.
A tried and tested approach
There are currently over 20 Emmaus projects in the UK, and over 300 across the world. People become homeless for many different reasons. By providing space and the support they need within a residential community, people can start to rebuild their lives for a brighter future. Emmaus has no maximum length of stay so Companions can choose to stay for a short or long period of time.
Community members will be encouraged to support each other and contributing to the wellbeing of all. They will work within a community enterprise business, which will provide them with vital training, skills and confidence. Through the support delivered by Emmaus communities, many residents move on from homelessness and into independent living.
To help us provide new beginnings for those ready to start rebuilding their lives, get involved as a volunteer or donate to Emmaus Ipswich today.
